At present, there is evidence that shows that a considerable number of people suffer, simultaneously, from addiction problems and psychiatric problems.
This co-morbidity, unquestionable in some cases, has been shown in various and recent studies, and it poses a challenge, as we must be able to agree on fundamental aspects related to this, so-called, dual diagnosis.
Recently, there has been a greater sensitivity to this pathology, and this is due to a higher demand, both in the services for the care of drug users and in the mental health services, from people suffering these disorders.
Because of this, it seems desirable to fulfil the objective of defining a set of strict and validated actions plans which allow us to efficiently deal with the problems encountered by those affected with this dual problem.
